First visit to the hospital
Entering the ER at the S:t Göran Hospital gave me an eerie feeling of déjà vu. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I was admitted for a "first opinion". More waiting. Seeing an emergency doctor, repeating the story about what happened. More waiting. Seeing the doctor again. Got some painkillers. Some pressure testing. More waiting. I was told "We need to x-ray your hips to make sure we're not talking about a bone fracture". I could have saved them the hassle (and the taxpayers some money), there was nothing wrong with my hips!
After some more waiting I was told the x-ray pictures looked good. The doctor told me I'd get some painkillers to take for the coming two weeks and then be scheduled for MR within 14 days.
I couldn't quite figure out why she wouldn't want me to get the MR right then and there.
If this, indeed, was a case of a ruptured hamstring, wouldn't it be good to know this ... like ... right now?
